FLEXIBLE SCREW CONVEYOR

Helix Flexible Screw Conveyor for powder dosing in Australian facility

Efficient, Flexible and Easy to Operate

SIMPLY AND EASILY CONVEY BULK SOLIDS.

STANDARD MODELS EXAMPLES OF HELIX FLEXIBLE SCREW CONVEYOR

The flexible screw conveyor from Helix is the most efficient, flexible, and easy-to-operate and maintain conveyor on the market. With a single moving part, in the standard Helix, there will be minimal maintenance required.

Additionally, the Flexible Screw conveyor is perfect for moving material from one area to another using a simple and effective conveying method. Available for batch, intermittent, or continuous conveying, our systems can move bulk material both horizontally or vertically as required.

Excellent for batch, intermittent and continuous conveying.

An economical option for conveying powders, crystals, pellets, friable material, flakes, granules and much more.

Simple, yet rugged construction keeps costs low and reliability high.

A helicoid screw auger rotates inside a fixed tube. Consequently, fewer components minimize maintenance. The conveyor’s stainless steel construction stands up to a continuous flow of abrasive materials.

Convey materials over distances up to 80 ft (24.4 m).

and discharge heights up to 40 ft (12.2 m).

Sanitary & Easy-Clean Engineering

  • 5-Minute Washdowns: Features a quick-release end cap and heavy-duty U-bolt assembly, allowing operators to fully slide out the inner coreless screw auger without tools.

  • Contamination Prevention: Zero internal bearings, hangers, or crevices where bulk powders can lodge, ensuring total compliance with strict Australian food and pharma sanitary standards.

USDA Dairy Grade Certified

We always take the time and effort to meet all sanitary requirements for the food, dairy, and pharmaceutical industries with our flexible screw conveyor.

Industrial Flexible Screw Conveyor Types Available in Australia

Hi/Lo portable Helix

Quick auger changeout, and easy to clean.

flexible screw conveyor

Batch changeovers and meeting stringent sanitation regulations are easy with the Hi/Lo Helix flexible screw conveyor.

• Clean easily. No need for ladders or special tools to clean this conveyor. The electric actuator automatically lowers the auger to an easy-to-access height.

• Move from room to room. Fully assembled conveyor fits through standard-height doors.

• Achieve a discharge height up to 12 ft (3.66 m).

Loss-in-weight Option -Helix flexible screw conveyor

flexible screw conveyor loss in weight option

Move and dose material in one flexible screw conveyor.

The Loss-In-Weight (LIW) Helix screw conveyor is a fully automated dosing system that features programmable logic and system integration tie-in functionality. The LIW Helix screw conveyor comes equipped with load cells integrated into the hopper base. This enables precise measurement of material weight during operation. LIW can be combined with Gravimetric Feeders

The flexible screw conveyor effortlessly transports the material to an elevated point, maintaining the required flow rate.  The batching functionality not only allows the automation of a precisely dosed amount of material but also ensures continuous conveying.

•  Screw conveyor model is available from 3 to 8 inches (7.6 cm to 20.32 cm) nominal case diameter with average capacity ranges from 014 m3/min to .707 m3/min,  and a discharge height of 3.66 m.

• Choose the Hi-Lo option for easy raising and lowering of the screw conveyor for cleaning or screw auger change-out.

• Material available with 304 or 316 stainless steel hopper flexible connections, automated and manual discharge. shut-off valves, and more.

Integrate the FLEXIBLE SCREW CONVEYORS with other bulk material equipment from Noggrann, like the BULK BAG UNLOADERTUBULAR DRAG CONVEYORS, VACUUM CONVEYORS, BULK BAG FILLERS, or SCREW FEEDERS for a complete conveying system.

Frequently Asked Questions

The key benefits include:

Easy to clean: Conveyors are often designed to disassemble quickly (e.g., in 5 minutes) for thorough wash-down and sanitation.

Simple Design & Low Maintenance: A single helicoid screw rotates inside a fixed tube, requiring only fewer components and a single drive point, which minimizes maintenance needs.

Long distance & Height: These conveyors can convey materials over distances up to 80 ft (24.4 m) and achieve discharge heights up to 40 ft (12.2 m)

Cost-Effective: They are generally a lower-cost option compared to complex pneumatic or bucket elevator systems.

A flexible screw conveyor (also known as a helix conveyor or screw auger) is a simple, mechanical conveying system that uses a rotating helical spiral inside a stationary, flexible or rigid tube. The spiral pulls the material along its length, allowing the conveyor to move product with higher inclined angle more than 45 Degrees.

The primary limitation is its gentle handling capability compared to other conveyors. Since the helix pushes and tumbles the material, it is not ideal for highly fragile or friable materials (like certain delicate cereals or snack foods) that may break down or suffer degradation during transfer.

The main difference is the housing and routing flexibility:

·  Flexible Screw Conveyor (FSC): Uses a flexible or rigid plastic tube (or casing) and runs at low speed. The lack of internal bearings allows it to bend around fixed obstacles and convey at steep inclines more than 45 degrees.

·  Rigid Screw Conveyor (Auger): Uses a fixed metal trough or casing with internal bearings. It is limited to straight line transfers (horizontal or shallow incline, typically max. 25 degrees).

An easy-clean flexible screw conveyor is engineered with a quick-release end cap and a heavy-duty U-bolt assembly. This specialized setup allows machine operators to fully uncouple and pull out the inner coreless screw auger straight from the bottom end of the unit. The entire food-grade tube can then be flushed and fully sanitized without requiring any special tools or ladders, dropping batch changeover cleaning times down to under 5 minutes.

By eliminating internal bearings, hangers, and crevices where material can lodge, easy-clean conveyors leave no blind spots for bacterial growth or residual powders. Regular wash-downs completely sanitize the smooth stainless steel contact surfaces, making them fully compliant with strict Australian sanitary standards for food, dairy, and pharmaceuticals.
