Operating principle

The JVK® LFP 150 laboratory filter press was developed to investigate new challenges in suspension and cake treatment and to improve existing applications. It is designed to allow for the demonstration and testing of various cake treatment processes.

  • Pressure filtration
  • Post-pressing with membrane (max. 60 bar)
  • Drying with air
  • Thermal cake drying
  • Cake washing

LAB FILTER PRESS
The compact design allows for on-site use at the customer's location. When used with pneumatically controlled pumps, a compressed air network with an operating pressure of 6 bar is sufficient. The appropriate chamber depth is set by selecting the correct filter frame thickness.

Complete solution

The JVK® LFP 150 laboratory filter press, type Gamma, can also be implemented as a mobile version.

Available plate types

  • JVK® MCP – membrane combination plate

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer a versatile range of materials including lightweight, chemically resistant Polypropylene (PP) and high-temperature PVDF. For advanced dewatering, JVK exchangeable membrane systems allow for active post-pressing of the filter cake, which significantly reduces residual moisture. These membranes are available in various elastomers (like EPDM, NBR, or FKM/Viton) and can be replaced without changing the entire plate, reducing long-term maintenance costs.

JVK laboratory filter plates are engineered for high-performance research and pilot plant operations. They typically operate at filtration pressures of 6 to 15 bar, with specialized membrane squeezing capabilities reaching up to 60 bar. Depending on the material choice (Polypropylene or PVDF), they can withstand temperatures ranging from –20°C up to 140°C, making them suitable for aggressive chemical environments and heat-sensitive processes.

Yes. High-precision laboratory units like the JVK® LFP 150 are engineered to precisely mimic full-scale industrial conditions. By selecting the correct filter frame thickness, you can vary chamber depths from 15 to 50 mm, allowing your team to accurately calculate parameters for larger production lines.

The unit is designed to evaluate a complete filtration cycle on-site. It allows your R&D team to test standard pressure filtration, membrane squeezing (post-pressing up to 60 bar), air blowing, cake washing, and specialized thermal cake drying.
